Kidnap and false imprisonment acquittals

Feb 2024

After a 3-month trial involving the kidnap of two men in what was said to be a drugs feud, my client was acquitted of all charges.

The kidnap gang had freed one man in order that he could arrange for a ransom to be paid. In the meantime, the other man was held for a week and moved around the country in order to evade police. Specialist police hostage negotiators were brought in and eventually the man was found held blindfolded in the rear of  which was en-route to London.

The case gained some press attention, particularly in Ireland,  because it was said to relate to the ‘Drogheda Drugs Feud” and the murder of a number of men.

I led Rhys Rosser from 2 Bedford Road in the trial.
